DURHAM RECEIVES TITLE OF SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR AT VIRGINIA HEALTH INFORMATION
Joan Durham begins her new role of Senior Administrative Coordinator as of May 2020. She has been at Virginia Health Information (VHI) since 2013 as the Administrative Assistant and is responsible for administrative functions such as reception, accounting, customer service and more. With a background in furniture advertising and sales promotion, agency traffic and printing customer service and production, Joan's goal is to offer the internal and external customers of VHI the best possible service.
Her professional goals are to continue growing in knowledge and experience. "Since healthcare information is such a critical need, I am honored to be involved in any way with the gathering and delivery of that information," says Durham. In the past seven years, her favorite part of working at VHI is getting to work with members of different facets of the organization. From internal employees, external customers to Board of Director members, stakeholders, vendors and more - Joan enjoys playing a vital role in ensuring all parts of the VHI are supported.
For the past 35 years, her past career was spent in advertising management and print. Her past positions include customer service representative at the world's largest still photography studio in High Point, North Carolina, Customer Service Manger in the print industry and Director of Advertising at two different furniture companies. She uses her printing background to work with vendors on the production of VHI's Annual Report and Industry Report.
Originally from Danville, Virginia, Joan has lived in Richmond for over 20 years. She enjoys VHI's unique office environment being in downtown Richmond. "I love my work home and work family!" says Durham.
