Make A Difference to Virginia Consumers

Would you like to help Virginians get the best medical information possible? A consumer representative is being sought by Virginia Health Information (VHI) to serve on our Board of Directors.

VHI is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is
  • to create and disseminate healthcare information
  • to promote informed decision making by Virginia consumers and purchasers, and
  • to enhance the quality of healthcare delivery.
What to expect?
  • VHI's Board of Directors consists of members representing businesses, consumers, hospitals, insurers, nursing facilities, physicians and state agencies.
  • Consumer members serve a three-year term and are appointed at large.
  • VHI's Board of Directors approves the appointee’s nomination.
  • Board meetings occur approximately five times a year in Richmond.
  • Directors are not paid but may be reimbursed for reasonable travel expenses to meetings.
Individuals with a keen interest in healthcare are encouraged to submit a nomination accompanied by the signatures and addresses of at least 25 Virginia citizens.
