Tonsillectomy with Adenoidectomy (2018)

What is tonsillectomy?

Tonsils and adenoids are both part of the lymphatic system, an important part of the immune system. Tonsils are at the back of the throat, and adenoids are located at the roof of the mouth behind the nose. Doctors may recommend tonsillectomy to remove tonsils and adenoids if they are infected and don't get better with antibiotics or if the patient is having continued trouble swallowing, breathing or sleeping.
